Financial services companies in Chile

There are 106,570 companies in ISIC section K (financial and insurance activities) in Chile, 105,322 active. The section is 3.1% of the 3,392,321 Chilean records we hold from the RES (datos.gob.cl) + SII nómina, extracted 2026-08-03. The largest divisions are 64 (financial service activities, except insurance and pension funding, 86,029) and 66 (activities auxiliary to financial service and insurance activities, 20,296); one further division completes it. By region, Metropolitana de Santiago leads with 80,412 (75% of the section), followed by Valparaíso (9,433) and Biobío (3,186).

The operating institutions are a minority of this section: holding companies (ISIC 6420) and investment funds and trusts (6430) make up most of division 64 in Brazil, Chile and Peru. The LATAM Financial Services package removes those two classes; on this page the counts include them. Banks, credit co-operatives, payment institutions, brokers, insurers and asset managers are what payments infrastructure, KYC/AML, core-banking and insurtech vendors come here for. In Chile, 100% of these rows carry an ISIC class; size is known for 37%; the registry publishes no website or e-mail; 5,581 were registered in the 12 months before the extraction. An economic activity is registered for about half of Chilean RUTs, so this section undercounts companies that never registered one with the SII.
