Wholesale and retail companies in Veracruz, Mexico

Veracruz has 17,350 wholesale and retail company records in ISIC section G (wholesale and retail trade; repair of motor vehicles), 17,350 of them active, according to the INEGI DENUE as of 2026-05-20. That is 4.9% of the section in Mexico and makes Veracruz the 5th largest of 32 states for wholesale and retail. Its weight in the local economy is close to the national mix: 40.1% of Veracruz's records against 42.1% nationally (location quotient 0.95).

The city of Veracruz concentrates 16.3% of the active companies, followed by Xalapa (1,824) and Coatzacoalcos (1,320); the three together hold 34.4%. INEGI's DENUE dates establishments by the edition that first listed them, not by founding date, so there is no openings series for Mexico. By ISIC division, 47 (retail trade, except of motor vehicles and motorcycles) is 76.4% of the records and 46 (wholesale trade, except of motor vehicles and motorcycles) 15.8%. Size is known for 100% of the active companies; 76% of those are micro and 617 are medium or large.

The largest section everywhere. Division 46 (wholesale) is the B2B half: distributors and importers that payments, trade-finance, logistics and B2B-marketplace vendors target. Division 47 (retail) is the merchant universe for payments, POS and e-commerce enablement. 45 holds dealerships and repair shops. Filter by division first; the section total is too broad for any single campaign.
